First of all there are no pictures in this post because my camera is in the shop. Second of all there is no Jason in this post because he is in California fighting wildfires. So Saturday morning Kristin and I went kayaking. My kayak is 63Lbs and I can't car top it without Jason so Kristen came over and we put her kayak and my car and my kayak on her car. Then we headed to Perkins' Landing on Hurricane Bayou. We launched and headed north on the Bayou. We cut over to the river at the pipeline and then across the river and picked up the pipeline again and followed it to Little Brier Creek. We followed the creek down to Gravine Island. We had a picnic lunch on the island. There were a lot of people hanging out, riding jet skis, water skiing and generally having a good time. We decided to head up the Tensaw to get back because the water was really smooth and it had the double benefits of being shorter and not doubling back. The whole trip was about 4 hours and other than being really hot I have no complaints. We had a really nice paddle.
Next I took a quick shower and met Sherri at the church to set up for Sunday service because we had Alter Guild duty this week. Since I don't have any new pics here is an old one of the church.
Next I went to Daphne and picked up my sister Michele. We went to Pensacola to Weatherfords climbing gym. They had a really cool outdoor tower but it was raining so we did the indoor walls. We started out on an easy wall then to make it harder youknow how you are supposed to pick a color and only climb on the holds marked with that color well we decided to pick a family of colors and only use holds with any color in that family. Net we tried to do a wall with an overhang and redirect. Neither one of us made it but Michele was really close. We decided to do that wall first nex time an do the easy walls last instead of working up to the hard walls while we are tired. Anyway after four hours of kayaking and an hour and a hlf of climbing my arms were wiped so I had to call it quits. We went to the Four Winds International Market for dinner, free samples and some shopping.
